For many people, Spotify has been a go-to platform for enjoying their favorite songs. However, some Spotify users are currently unable to add songs to playlists.
Problems like this often trouble Spotify users. Some recent issues we’ve reported include misaligned lyrics on Desktop, recently played section missing, and more.
Spotify unable to add songs to playlists
Having said that, when users click the ‘Add’ button to add a song to a playlist, they’re met with an error that says, ‘Couldn’t Open Link.’
This error is followed by ‘Spotify can’t open this type of link on this device’ message. This is the issue that many iOS users have been facing on Spotify, while there aren’t any reports from Android users.

The good news is that Spotify’s support team is aware of this problem. They’ve taken note of the ‘Couldn’t Open Link’ error, and they’re actively investigating the issue.
While Spotify is working to fix the issue, they’ve suggested a potential workaround that can alleviate the issue in the meantime. For now, users can try adding the song to playlists from Search.
We hope that this issue gets fixed soon since users can’t add their favorite songs to playlists. Rest assured, we will keep an eye out on the latest developments and keep this article updated accordingly.
