Some Madden NFL 24 players are experiencing issues related to gameplay physics and animation — issues they are now pinning down on the aging Frostbite engine.

The Frostbite engine is a powerful and versatile engine known for its realistic animation, graphics, and physics.

Ever since its launch, it has been used to create a wide variety of games, including Battlefield, Dragon Age, FIFA, and much more.

Is Frostbite engine to blame for poor Madden NFL 24 gameplay physics & animations?

However, by looking at the reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10), it appears that multiple gamers are unhappy that EA still went with the engine in Madden NFL 24.

And this is because the latest iteration of the game apparently has poor physics and animations and allegedly lacks innovation.

Some allege that a significant number of gameplay issues have persisted since Madden 19 due to Frostbite’s inadequate performance.

As per the claims, the showcasing of post-play actions and insignificant elements is way too high, and important minor details have been blatantly ignored.

A few argue that the developers have tried to divert the fans’ attention by enhancing some ancillary aspects like custom celebrations. But sadly, even these improvements fell short.

Players say that the ‘physics’ are so unrealistic that even the NFL Street looks better. The selection of an FPS engine for sports games has sparked controversy, which is worsened by animation flaws.

I’ve seen roughly 6 hours of @EAMaddenNFL #Madden24 already. I’ve seen a large amount of gameplay issues that have existed since Madden19 thanks to Frostbite’s trash. The over exposure of post play antics and useless assets while ignoring important minor details are way too high.

They have observed that a character tumbling to the ground can miraculously gain yardage after a collision.

In addition to this, the visual representation of the athletes alternates between being extremely thin and absurdly overweight as well.

The frostbite engine is genuine the issue here. The game is built on an engine made for FPS. It has terrible physics because the engine was not MADE for games where physics play a huge role.

Gamers are astonished that Madden 24 continues to utilize the same subpar engine even after so many years and are requesting others to stop supporting a game of such poor quality.

No official response

Unfortunately, EA has not officially responded to the allegations. And as of now, some pessimism remains over Madden 24’s prospects, with little hope for improvements among this lot.
