Original story (published on February 03, 2022) follows:
Oculus is the virtual reality (VR) platform owned by Meta (formerly known as Facebook). The company offers an ecosystem that includes both hardware and software.
The company’s software is available through the Oculus web and Oculus app. However, according to multiple reports, some Oculus app users on iOS are facing issues that prevent it from working properly.
Apparently, when Oculus iOS app users try to launch it, they get a crashing issue that doesn’t allow them to access the VR software.
Oculus iOS app crashing after v148.0 update
The crashing issue in the Oculus iOS app started from the most recent update to v148.0 and as a result it’s currently not working for many users (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9).
According to reports, after trying to open the app, it crashes and the process stays open in the background, but the user remains unable to access it.
Today my Iphone Oculus app took an update to v 148.0 and now when I try to launch it shows the o splash screen and then appears to quite and phone returns to homescreen. I can see the app still open in the running apps but when you try to view it just returns to homescreen. I have force closed that app and rebooted my phone with no change.

As a workaround, Oculus recommends that affected users uninstall and reinstall the app. After that, it could start working normally again.
Hi everyone, the team is working on this issue with the app that’s causing a crash or failing to load after the update. For now, the resolution as noted is to just uninstall and reinstall the app, but the team is looking into the cause to fix it from coming up in the first place.
